Dear friends and readers, WELCOME to Sam’s chat.
Hi, "Kevin In Heaven", I like the idea that heaven can be found in gratitude. Blissful moments of thanks and appreciation leave you felling good and buzzy. But, new love, is the closest thing I can think of as heavenly. Sometimes love hurts though. Like in the Hitting Man song. That song gave me goosebumps. Hey, I don't see any Emojis here. Are we not allowed? It's kind of nice. Less distracting. The colors are pretty too. Calming. I think I like it here. Thanks Sam, thanks Loopy!
Heaven? Does it exist? Is it a box of chocolates? A tray full of cookies? Is it love at first sight? A favorite movie? A best friend? A free weekend? A day at the beach? A fast car? A big bank account? Is it within us? Can you find it in a glass? A flower? A bowl? Hmm... It might just be gratitude. Any thoughts?
Don't you? Candy bars are the best. I know, sugar gets a bad rap. It is bad for you, but once in awhile it's the best. We can't be perfect everyday. Can we? So here's to being human, and enjoying your favorite treats. In moderation of course. Try sharing, that way you get only half of the calories, and the added benefit of making a friend happy. BTW, I really enjoyed the book and the friendship between Sam and Sarah. I love that there is no jealousy between them. I find that refreshing and it motivates me to be more appreciative and less threatened by other woman. We need to encourage each other more. I mean, how hard can it be to be nice to each other? If we can do that, then we have solved a majority of social issues. Thanks for listening girls. Have a great day!
Yes. I. Am. I just got out of the hospital. Whew! I read your book and loved it. Talk about dreaming? There was nothing in my hospital situation that was cute or sassy. Only while reading the book did I get a little "time away" from the dreary four walls. Hospitals Never Sleep was my favorite song. I loved the part about nervous hands and coffee breath. I think there should be a Starbucks in every hospital. A mani-pedi bar would be nice too. Oh, and cute guys giving massages. Dream on! Thanks Sam, you're a hoot. I'll be back soon. Xx's y'all
Hey, I'm back! I used to be, "Thought I knew you" and I'm still a "night-owl" but hey, it's nice to be more than just me. I like number 393's description of hospitals. They are lowly places, but where you find desperation you also find caring, loving people. So, don't hesitate to look for the best in people, even in the worst circumstances. Sam learned about unconditional love in the hospital. I found a new best friend during a painful divorce. Keep those hearts open girls and life will be a better place for all.
The number three has always been my lucky number. Imagine my surprise to be given the number 393. I should have used, "Lucky Me" as my make-believe name. I rushed it though, and so here we are in this make-believe world of Sam's. I loved the book. Very unusual. But real and meaningful, too. I'm studying to be a nurse. It's always been my dream. I like to help people. I only wish hospitals were as friendly as Sam's was. I know they are scary places. Being caught in your worst, most vulnerable state and thrown into an ugly, unfamiliar place is awful. If I can make my patients more comfortable with a little compassion and humor then I will do so. I promise! So, thank you Sam, for the lessons your book taught me. I will share it with my friends in nursing school. We can all use a laugh.
Hey, "Night-Owl", I'm the early bird that gets the worm. But, I did stay up reading Sam's book. I couldn't put it down once I got started. It did feel like Sam was talking to us, and It's weird, I felt like she needed us too. I guess we all need each other. That is why we are here. We want to be heard in this noisy world. It feels quiet and safe here. Like we are in the book, in the hush of Sam's room. I liked it when Sam whispered. So, I whisper to you all, "Know you are not alone, I'm listening, I care." Blessing
Hey, I'm here! I didn't know how this was going to work. I love the rhyming bit. It goes along well with the book. It's something new and different. Not much rhymes with seventy though. I'm not anywhere close to seventy but my grandmother is and she has a zest for life that is most inspiring. She has taught me by example, that anything is possible with hard work and an optimistic attitude. I think she is the most beautiful person living. Her smile is infectious and her hugs are the best. So, I'm sending all of you, one of grandma's biggest hugs. It's the best gift I can give you.
Wow, this is strange! I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The book was strange too, but I really liked it. I especially liked the nighttime chats that Sam had with us readers. I'm what you would call a "night-owl". I like to stay up late. But, I live alone and feel lonely sometimes. Books are good company. There were times, I felt like Sam was really talking to me. Did you feel the same? Now, I (we) get to talk back. So, hi Sam! Thank you for inviting us in for a chat. And, hi fellow readers! Are any of you "night-owls"?
Hi, "Sam and the Gang" This is my first time writing. I just finished the book and I'm curious about what goes on here in this private writing space. It looks like you're just getting started and I like to be in on the beginning of things. Loopy mentioned discussions about dreams and inspiration and I find that compelling. We all have a little voice telling us we can do anything, and another one telling us it's impossible. I hope to hear stories from other women that have accomplish great things. I especially like the song GET A GOING. Its true, we can dream all we want but we have to take action if we want to move forward. One little step will get you further and help you find your dreams, and this is my first step. Wishing you all a moment of personal success today.
